Romantic Congratulations Cards

Since I just had one friend get married and a cousin get engaged, I thought I’d share the congratulations cards I made for them. I hope these ideas inspire you and help you celebrate milestones with those you love!

The first card (above) I made using the Cuttlebug embossing tool to emboss the tree onto the card. I used mixed media paper so that I could color the tree using watercolor brush pens (the link is to a product similar to mine).

I drew thin lines on the tree and branches, and then used the water brush pen to blend the colors. After the paper had dried a little, I added some additional lines to give the tree bark some texture.

I punched out two hearts and glued them to the card, adding details with a fine-point pen. Ta-da!

For an extra touch, you could write the couple’s initials on the tree.

For my second card, I used polka dots and created heart confetti to give the card a fun look. (The heart punches also come in various sizes, perfect for layering). Here are letter stamps similar to what I used.

Lettering Tip for Card Making | cassiecreley.com

Card Making Tip: When I’m spelling out words with letter stamps, I line up the stamps so that I make sure I use them in order. It’s amazing how easy it is to get on a role and accidentally grab the wrong letter in the wrong order. If a letter repeats, I use a place holder for the second or third time that letter comes around. Since I had a lot of paper hearts on hand, I used them as my place holders between letter stamps.

So there you have it! I hope this post shows you that you can easily make congratulations cards and show those you love you’re thinking of them and happy for them.

Have you made any cards lately? For whom, and for what occasion?
