Summer Fun Update
At the beginning of summer, I created a list of easy and affordable ideas for summer fun, especially for those of us who are chronically ill. I thought I would write a post with an update on what I was able to accomplish on the list. It was fun to keep track of the fun things I did this summer.
This list was also a good reminder that when I set goals for myself, it’s good to have a mix of easy and more difficult goals. I didn’t make it to some of the bigger items on the list, but some of these could be fun opportunities later in the year, as my health allows.
This list is kind of like a mini scrapbook to help me remember the good things about the summer. And sure, I did almost pass out a couple times while at the fair, and we did have to shorten our game of putt putt golf because my exhaustion was getting worse, but it’s good to have this snapshot of memories.
It was a good reminder to take time for things that bring me joy, even if I have to recover afterwards.
I’m glad that I added some blank spaces to the list because it reminded me to look for other activities to celebrate. Filling them in made me feel like I’d been able to bring a little spontaneity back to my life.
(If you would like a free download of the summer fun list, subscribe on the original post’s page. The sign up form in that post is set up to send you the download.)
I’m thinking of creating another list like this for other times of the year with other activities. I would love to hear if my readers would be interested in that!
I’d love to hear about your summer adventures, especially if this list inspired you! Comment below! Share a photo of your list, or write some of your favorite activities in the comments.
